Hello, and welcome!

An incredible sense of joy is what brought me to contra dance. When the music is in full swing, and the dance floor is in motion, I grin ear to ear. I can’t help myself.

From there, I discovered English Country Dance, and it quickly became another form of dance that I deeply enjoy.

It’s an honor to share that unbridled joy with others, as a teacher, caller, and choreographer. I am grateful for the incredible support, from my mentors George Marshall, Bev Bernbaum, and Judy Greenhill, and to those near and far who are inviting me to their dances.

I travel extensively throughout North America. Ask me when I’m coming to a location near you.

What is Contra Dance? And ECD?

Contra dancing is a social folk dance where dancers form long lines of couples and perform simple, repeatable patterns to music, often led by a caller. It’s a fun, communal dance form that’s accessible for beginners and popular for its energetic, social atmosphere, danced to joyful, energetic live music, often led by fiddle.

English Country Dance (ECD) is another form of social dance with a rich history, popular in England and America starting in the 1600s. It’s the predecessor of both contra dance and square dance, and is more gentle than contra dance, but often more intricate. I like to say, it’s what the cool kids were doing in the 17th and 18th centuries, and it’s just as fun now!
