Proud to call for our Community

As an out gay man, I’m proud to represent the 2SLGBTQI+ community on stage in dance halls, everywhere.

Whether calling for queer events, or bringing my unbridled joy for dance to mixed audiences, I choose to stand for creating a safe space for diverse folks to bring their full selves to the dance floor.

As a gay contra dance and English Country Dance caller, I’m particularly moved by how our dance traditions have uniquely welcomed those who are often felt excluded in other areas in society.

Creating a safer space for trans and non-binary dancers, in particular, has been a unique blessing that the contra dance community has brought to locations large and small.
